Joy of Living

The Tergar Meditation Training begins with the Joy of Living program, a series of three seminars based on Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche’s precious teachings on how to calm the mind, open the heart, and develop insight into the true nature of reality. The Joy of Living program emphasizes universal principles that provide a foundation for spiritual growth: inner peace, loving-kindness, compassion, and wisdom. These teachings are beneficial for people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and faiths.

The Joy of Living program consists of three levels:

  1. Calming the Mind
    In the first level, you will discover how awareness meditation can be used to bring peace to the mind and joy to the heart.
  2. Opening the Heart
    In the second level, you will experience how meditating on loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity can open our hearts to the world around us.
  3. Awakening Wisdom
    In the third level, you will receive guidance in insight meditation, a profound form of practice that helps uproot the causes of anxiety and suffering.
